Coronado Valentine 10K (2-13-2011)

Hello! I don't normal blog about my outside life but I wanted to share this great accomplishment.  My friend, Christina T. and I completed our first 10K run.  Christina had done a few 5Ks up to this point but as for me this would be my first race event! We did it! We completed before our goals! I managed to run throughout the whole race, only stopping once to tie my shoe lace. Did you know there is a special way to tie your shoe laces?! I was never taught this and still don't know how but next run I will find out the secret.  All I kept thinking about was my husband screaming at me to keep going, not to stop, keep a steady pace and don't think about how long it is taking.  I was very impressed with myself, up until yesterday 3 miles was my longest run I could manage.  Yesterday I did 6.2 miles. I was BEAT once I crossed that finish line! It took Christina 1 hour and 4mins and me 1 hour and 8 mins to finish, not to shabby for not fully training for this. The last mile seemed so close yet so far, at about a quarter mile left I heard a lady say,"Damn, is this every going to end." I thought in my head, "Sh*t it better, my legs are going to fall!" There was a point towards the end of the race where I was waiting for my anticipation and adrenaline to finish were going to kick into high gear. Did it, nope not one ounce of adrenaline kicked in once I saw that finish line! What did kick in was the pain my legs were feeling! HOLY POOP! HELLO LEG MUSCLES! Well I will leave you with a few pictures of evidence that I did run this race! Thanks for stopping by!

p.s I know I look tore up but if you ran a 10K you wouldn't be looking so hot either! LOL

Up for auction

Well I have to say, I'm becoming a bit crafty. Which to me is a surprise, I have never really had an artistic side unless you count my "mad" makeup skills! HA! Anyhoot I just wanted to share a little piece that I was working on while watching the Puppy bowl and of course the super bowl.  This little step stool will be auctioned off this Friday (2/11 -2/13) in hopes to raise money for Long Island Bulldog Rescue.  It will be held on facebook so everyone can take a look and bid if they would like.  So here it is... what to you think?

I also plan to make it personalized somehow once they inform me of who the winner is.  This excites me so much because someone out there will actually have something that I made, not just my family! =)

Well thanks for stopping by, and please feel free to comment!
